Tetanus – Signs and Symptoms
Tetanus is an infection with the organism Clostridium tetani, which causes spasms and muscle rigidity, hence its other name Lockjaw (trismus). The organism can be found in garden soil and manure, and can infect the individual through a small cut or abrasion, or from animal bites. This is a potentially severe condition and may cause death. It can take some time to incubate, usually around a week.
